What Our Customers Are Saying

Kitchen Remodel

Our kitchen remodel involved gutting the kitchen to remove the soffits, removal of pantry and storage closet in the kitchen and adding onto a wall separating the kitchen from the dining room. The electrical wiring and plumbing which was in the soffets and behind the pantry closet had to be reworked. New lighting and stereo speakers were added to the ceiling. New cabinets, granite countertops, and flooring was added to the kitchen. A new bathroom vanity and cabinet was added for our bathroom. We also had our dining room next to the kitchen re-painted which involved removal of wallpaper and a chair rail.

The main reasons we went with Roger at Kitchen Krafters is that he had great suggestions for our remodel and his detailed proposal. He brought to our attention things that we never thought of and that other remodel companies never brought up. We really liked how he took the time to make sure we picked out things we really liked. He even met us at the granite shop and helped us pinpoint what we wanted. He personally installed the cabinets and trim which are beautiful. The painters, electricians, plumbers and tile installers were all very nice to work with. Another great thing about Roger is that he has high standards on how things should be done, so he doesn’t have a problem bringing people back to make sure things are perfect. He is quick to respond to any problem you may have and to fix it. He met our deadline for our remodel and we really are enjoying our new kitchen. Karla, Menomonee Falls, WI

Complete Main Level Remodel – including kitchen, family room, living room, powder room, hall, mud room and bar

We contacted Roger at Kitchen Krafters for a design and bid to remodel our kitchen and family room. We knew it was going to be a large project and we needed to be certain we were going with the right contractor. We had some ideas but relied heavily on Rogers design expertise. He contacted us about a week later ready to present the design. We loved it right away and knew this was the company we wanted to go with. With Rogers design he completely opened up our space to make one big kitchen. He relocated a sliding glass door to the family room which we absolutely loved and no one else had thought of. If I went through every detail of this project this review would be too long and no one would read it so I’ll highlight some areas. Roger was extremely patient with us as we dragged our feet picking out some crucial items (granite and hard wood flooring). We also kept adding on to the project. What started out to be a kitchen and family room remodel ended up being the entire main level with a door relocated, new and replacement windows added, complete reface of fireplace, a bar room completely gutted, a powder room also completely gutted. He didn’t miss a beat and was happy to add on to the project even though some items we added during the project. His expertise and knowledge of home remodeling is unbelievable. He is very detail orientated and demands perfection and professionalism from the sub- contractors who work on the project. At the end of the day it was not unusual for him to stop by to inspect the work of a sub-contractor. His attention to detail is impeccable. He thinks of every last detail and executes it perfectly. His communication was outstanding as he was prompt in keeping us informed of any unforeseen issues and delays (caused by the unforeseen issues). Whether it was a phone call, an email or a text message he reached out when he needed to inform us of anything. On more than one occasion he went out of his way to help me with something unrelated to the remodel which was much appreciated. I couldn’t recommend Roger any higher. After 4 months we have a very beautiful main level thanks to Roger and his design! We plan to remodel our upstairs and basement as well and will most definitely be using Kitchen Krafters!

Full Kitchen Remodel – including new custom cabinets, ceramic tile back splash and granite countertops, installation of wood floor and refinishing existing wood floor to match, custom-built benches (with storage) for corner seating, new lighting, finish carpentry, painting

This was the first time I hired professionals to complete any home projects. After speaking to a few different builders/contractors, I selected Roger for several reasons: he listened to what I wanted but tactfully informed me when there were better choices, he has vast carpentry experience and is skilled at working with old houses and all that comes with them, his bid was the lowest while still using quality products. I also felt comfortable with Roger, and as a single mom it was very important to me to trust the people who would be working in my home.

The timeline for the project ended up being a few weeks longer than predicted, but how many remodels finish on time, anyway? There were a few hiccups with floor sub-contractors, but the end product was really beautiful. If I had to do anything over, I probably would have gone over details with everyone involved, like the flooring guys. Roger actually did the lion’s share of the work on his own and kept me informed as he worked. He was also always available to me through calls or texts.

Something that I didn’t expect to happen was paying the exact amount quoted to me in the project bid. That was definitely appreciated! I started with a kitchen stuck in the 1950’s and ended up with a modern, yet classic, kitchen that I’m happy to come home to every day. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Roger or work with him again.

Powder room: All new fixtures and granite vanity top. Foyer: removed tile flooring & replaced with new wood flooring to match adjoining family room & complete refinish of all the wood flooring.

Roger worked diligently with us to take our ideas from concept to fruition. Once the job started, he kept us informed every step of the way – what to expect almost daily. We ran in to supplier bumps along the way but Roger stayed on top of those issues and we were able to work through each one. No over-promising or under delivering.

We are extremely happy with the way everything turned out. Our kitchen / family room is truly an open concept now with the removal of the soffit and trimming the bar height ‘back’ of the island down to counter height. Those changes alone make it feel like an entirely new space. The new beverage center has put a previously under-utilized area of the kitchen to good use. With the drywall work involved with the removal of the soffit, Roger was extremely finicky and had some of the work re-done and touched up several times until no signs of the drywall patching on the ceiling were visible. It’s a good thing when your contractor is more picky than you are!

The bathrooms turned out great as well. We threw a bit of curve-ball to Roger with our idea for the master bath shower and how it should integrate with the vanity countertops. It turned out better than imagined.

What we hope we have conveyed is that Kitchen Krafters listened to our ideas and fuzzy vision of what we wanted, provided professional input, advice, and quality workmanship resulting in great results. We had spoken with other contractors who must have thought the project was too small because we didn’t want to replace the kitchen cabinets or change the footprint. Obviously we’re biased because of our ideas, but because of Roger’s attention to detail and interest in turning out quality work, we almost feel like it’s a new house – a remodeling case study! Complete Upstairs Remodel

We had hired Roger at Kitchen Krafters for our entire main level remodel. We were so pleased with his work, ideas and professionalism that we decided to hire him again for our upstairs. His work is absolutely beautiful. Ideas he comes up with are just amazing. We had learned to have patience with the 1st remodel and it sure pays off when you see the end results. We plan on doing both bathrooms this fall and would not think of hiring anyone else. If you are looking for a beautiful remodel you have found your company. You will not be disappointed. We will always be hiring him next winter for our basement remodel!

Total Kitchen Remodel – with install of hard wood floors on 1st floor of Condo

From our  first meeting, I could tell Roger was the contractor talent that I needed. He is easy to talk to & is a great listener ….. crucial when gutting my condo  kitchen and 1st floor.  Because of his experience, he provided lots of ideas to consider …… to get me through this journey & on to an awesome end product.

I just finished the remodel – and truthfully am still digesting the transformation of “new construction” material vs quality work and workmanship. It would take a book to rehash every step of this event …… but why?  Im  very happy, it looks fantastic – and I am the envy of all my friends.

I guess what I think is most important is that Roger  has very standards for himself and for ALL his  hardworking crew.  He surrounds himself with strong talented folks.   Anything not perfect is not acceptable.  Thats pretty cool and I have the remodel to show it.

Kitchen Remodel – including Cabinets, Flooring, and Countertops

We are extremely pleased with our remodeled kitchen. We completely gutted our kitchen. We changed the entire layout, received new cabinets and countertops. We restored hardwood flooring hiding under 1980s linoleum. From day one, Roger stood out amongst other contractors.  During the bidding process, we had a number of contractors try to secure business without a detailed quote or even stepping into our home.  Conversely, Roger was eager, prompt and thorough from day one.  His attention to detail and craftsmanship is impeccable which is evident in the custom cubbies he built in our entryway.  Roger offered expert advice on design (both structural and aesthetic) and is very knowledgeable on how to remodel/design in a manner that is true to the time period of the home.  It was quite evident he is highly experienced in his field and was prepared to appropriately handle the unexpected challenges that arise when remodeling an older home.  He offered creative solutions and even advocated on our behalf when a sub-contractor voiced that something “couldn’t be done.”  Throughout, it was evident that Roger has a good rapport with a number of sub-contractors and thus had leverage with scheduling which kept us on schedule.   We are confident we got a great value for our dollar and had such confirmed by a friend who works at a higher end showroom type remodeling firm that was way out of our price range.  We would not hesitate to use Kitchen Krafters again for future projects.

Kitchen Remodel

The kitchen remodel was very extensive and consisted of gutting kitchen, demolition of a wall separating kitchen & dining room, closing up extra doorway between kitchen & family room, demolition of utility closet & adding the space to the powder room, removing soffits in laundry room & kitchen, removing window in kitchen & installing a door to the deck, removing hardwood floors in kitchen, family room, dining room to install new hardwood floor and removed tile floor in laundry room & powder room to install new tile floor. In addition crown molding was installed in kitchen, family room, dining room & library. There was also custom cabinets built into the family room & kitchen as well as the dining room. As a widow, I must admit that the whole idea of making this commitment made me very nervous, but I am so glad that I made the decision to follow through with the remodeling job. I was very happy with the design that Roger finally came up with and work that he did. He spent a lot of time walking through the whole process with me. I chose Roger for several reasons, first, he listened to what I had to say, second, he gave me suggestions when he thought that I might like something else that I had not thought of and was very willing to admit that I had some good ideas of which he had not thought about, and third, his prices were not far from what I was expecting to pay. His price quote was very detailed, listing demo work, rebuilding work, lighting, tile, flooring, cabinets, etc. Roger was always available for updates, questions or suggestions either by phone or email. His price quote was right on the money. His expectations of himself and the guys who work for him are set high. Speaking of which, he hires some great guys, such as, Brian the plumber, Josh the tile guy, and the J’s as I call them, John, Jason, I must admit I forget the name of the third J. I did not learn the names of some of the other guys that were working on the job, such as the flooring guy or the electrician, but they were just as good as the ones that I did name. I moved in with my daughter during the remodeling process so the guys came and went as they needed. They were careful of the items that were not involved in the remodel job and they cleaned up after themselves, as best they could, at the end of each day. The job took a little longer than I had expected because of some custom items that I wanted and the crown molding he installed had to match the rest of the trim in the house, which needed to be custom made. Overall I am very happy with Roger and would recommend him, as I have already to a friend. I am very happy with the remodel work. My almost 30 year old kitchen is new and updated and I think magazine quality. Robert , Brookfield WI

Remodel of Entire Kitchen – from floor to ceiling

My husband and I had talked about remodeling our kitchen for several years, and knew we didn’t want to tackle it ourselves, and we were looking to have someone who could do everything.  On the way to work I would see Kitchen Krafters trucks and I jotted down the number for future reference.  We made the call in June after checking out the website and the better business bureau and made an appointment.  As soon as Roger walked in the door, he had ideas as to how to make our kitchen work better for us.  We discussed what our budget was, and what our ideas were.  He drew up a plan and gave us a price in which we decided to have the work done.  The demolition of the kitchen wasn’t started until the cabinets arrived.

Everything from that point on moved fairly smoothly, considering the house was built in 1966, we didn’t know what to expect once the kitchen was demolished.  Roger had everything pretty much timed as to when each job would be started and completed, and after each job was completed, he would inspect the work for his, and our approval.   He had expressed that he tried to have any work completed during the day when we would be at work, as he didn’t want us to be inconvenienced any more than we were. There were only a handful of time when we would come home from work and have someone there.  We had heard horror stories from friends who had remodeling done in their homes in which the workers were there late at night, and would show up on Saturday’s.  The job was completed in 8 weeks, and we are completely satisfied with the quality of the work performed.
